Materials and Abbreviations

Materials Used:

  • Plush yarn (approx. 120 m/100 gr)
  • Hook #4
  • Scissors
  • Safety eyes 8 mm and 9 mm

Abbreviations:

  • MR – magic ring
  • Sc – single crochet
  • Inc – increase (2 sc in one stitch)
  • Triple increase – 3 sc in one stitch
  • Dec – decrease (2 sc together)
  • Hdc – half double crochet
  • Dc – double crochet
  • Tr – treble crochet (or triple crochet)
  • (..) x N – repeat N times the content in brackets
  • Sl st – slip stitch
  • Ch – chain stitch
  • Popcorn stitch of 4 dc – 4 dc in one stitch with a common top

The size of the toys when using the specified materials is approximately 14 – 16 cm. The size may vary depending on the yarn, hook, tension, and your crochet style. When crocheting, pay attention to stitch displacement and the symmetry of the toy. If necessary, crochet additional sc or, conversely, decrease.

Goosie Pattern – Size 1

Start crocheting with orange yarn (beak):

  1. 6 sc in MR

Change color to main:

Next, we will crochet the wings (one wing is crocheted on three front loops):

  1. 3 sc, ORANGE foot (5 ch, from the second chain from hook hdc, 3 sc, sl st in the base of the foot), 2 sc, ORANGE foot, 13 sc (18)

  3. 12 sc
  4. (2 sc, dec) x 3 (9) + crochet 1 additional sc so that the row ends on the side.

Next, we will crochet the tail:

Fold the piece and crochet both sides together: (sl st, 5 ch, sl st in the base of the chain) x 3 + sl st.

Cut the yarn, secure, hide the yarn end.

Glue 9 mm eyes to your liking. Mine are between rows 5 and 6, 7 sc apart.
