Crocheting the Paws

For a seamless look, begin by crafting your frog’s adorable paws. Leave a yarn tail 30-40 cm long before you start.

Crochet Frog Paws Initial Steps

  1. Chain 3.
  2. From the 2nd chain from the hook, make 2 SL ST.
  3. Chain 2, make a SL ST into the second chain from the hook and a SL ST into the base.
  4. Again, chain 2, and from the 2nd chain from the hook, make a SL ST and a SL ST into the base (these are the fingers).
  5. Then, pick up the left yarn tail and crochet a decorative cord using both strands.
  6. For the front paws (2 pcs), make 9 stitches.
  7. For the back paws (2 pcs), make 15 stitches.
  8. Fasten off, cut the main yarn, pick up both strands, and pull them through the last stitch to secure.

Body and Head Construction

Now, let’s bring our froggy to life by working on the main body and head. Remember to stuff as you go!

    1. Round 1: Chain 6. Starting from the 2nd chain from the hook: INC, 3 SC, 4 SC in one stitch, 3 SC, INC (14 stitches)

    4. Round 4: 5 SC, 3 SC (Y), 14 SC (22 stitches)
    5. Round 5-6: 4 SC, 5 SC (Y), 13 SC (22 stitches) – Repeat for 2 rows.

    4. Round 10: 2 SC, 6 SC (Y), 10 SC (18 stitches)
    5. Round 11: SC together with a paw (if crocheted separately). If crocheting as you go, then CH 12 and crochet the same way as the back paws, SC, 6 SC (Y), SC, SC together with a paw or crochet as previous ones, 8 SC (18 stitches)
    6. Round 12: 2 SC, 6 HDC (Y), 10 SC (18 stitches)
    7. Round 13: 2 SC, (2 HDC, 2 INC of HDC, 2 HDC (Y)), 10 SC (20 stitches). Cut the yellow yarn and secure it.
