Materials You’ll Need
- LaVita Velour yarn (or similar worsted weight yarn for your desired size)
- Holofiber (stuffing)
- Safety eyes 8mm (for a 9cm tall toy)
- Crochet hook 3.5mm (adjust as needed for your yarn and tension)
- Stitch marker
- Scissors
When using these materials, your finished Kittens will be approximately 9cm tall. The height of your toy may vary depending on your tension, chosen materials, and hook size.

- CH – chain
- SC — single crochet
- SL ST – slip stitch
- INC — increase (2 single crochet in one stitch)
- DEC – decrease (single crochet 2 stitches together)
- HDC – half double crochet

Important Notes Before You Start
- Stuff the toy as you go. It is recommended to stuff it firmly. Pay attention to the bottom part to ensure it isn’t bulky.

Crochet Pattern for Amigurumi Kitten
Chain 6, and starting from the second chain from the hook, crochet:
1. INC, 3 SC, 4 SC in one stitch, 3 SC, INC (14)
2. 2 INC, 3 SC, 4 INC, 3 SC, 2 INC (22)

In the third row, you will crochet the tail (on the side) and the paws.

3. 9 SC, crochet the tail (chain 12, and starting from the third chain from the hook, crochet back along the chain: 2 TR, 2 DC, 2 HDC, 2 SC, 2 SL ST), 2 SC, paw (crochet 4 DC together), 1 SC, paw (similarly), 5 SC, paw, 1 SC, paw (22)
4-10. 22 SC (22) for 7 rows

In the 11th row, crochet the muzzle; it should be centered.
11. 16 SC, bobble stitch (crochet 5 DC together), 1 SC, bobble stitch (similarly), 3 SC (22)
12. 22 SC (22)

13. DEC, 10 SC, DEC, 8 SC (20)
Install the safety eyes between rows 13-14, 3 SC apart (between the eye stalks). Embroider the nose at the stage of eye installation.

14-17. 20 SC (20) for 4 rows

18. 11 – 12 SC (11-12) – this row is incomplete. At this stage, you should be in the middle, on the left side of the toy.
Stuff the toy completely. When crocheting the upper part, also add more stuffing (if not enough).
Finishing Your Kitten

Fold both halves of the toy together and crochet as follows:
19. 2 HDC, 1 SC, 4 SL ST, 1 SC, 2 HDC. (10)
Cut the yarn, secure it, and weave it inside the toy. Using a needle (or a thin stick/chopstick), gently push the stuffing up towards the top of the toy to shape it as desired.

Tail Variations for Striped & Spotted Kittens
For tiger and leopard patterns, crochet the tail as follows: chain 12, and starting from the second chain from the hook, crochet 11 SC along the chain. Determine the number and placement of spots and stripes yourself for a unique look!
