Instructions

Intarsia Note:

When working from Chart, wind small balls of the colors to be used, one for each separate area of color in the design. To change colors, wind the 2 colors around each where they meet, on WS, to avoid a hole.

Blanket

With A, cast on 128 sts. Do not join. Working back and forth across needle in rows, proceed as follows:

Knit 20 rows (garter st), noting that 1st row is WS.

Next row: (WS). K14. Kfb. (K10. Kfb) 9 times. Knit to end of row. 138 sts. Break A.

With B, beg on a knit row, work in stocking st until Blanket from beg measures 8″ [20.5 cm], ending on a purl (WS) row.

Work Rows 1 to 159 of Chart in stocking st, reading knit rows from right to left and purl rows from left to right. Break A and B.

With C and beg on a purl row, cont in stocking st until Blanket measures 50″ [127 cm], ending on a purl (WS) row.

Next row: (RS). With A, K14. K2tog. (K10. K2tog) 9 times. Knit to end of row. 128 sts.

Knit 20 rows (garter st).

Cast off.

Side Borders

With A and RS facing, pick up and knit 162 sts along right side edge of Blanket.

Knit 20 rows (garter st).

Cast off.

Rep for opposite side of Blanket.
