Let’s gather our supplies and dive into creating your very own Lively Blanket!

The sample blanket used 2 skeins of Red Heart Granny Square All In One yarn in the Soft White – Citrus Twist colorway.
Hook: 8 mm (US L11)
Gauge:
11.5 stitches = 4 inches (10 cm)

Stitches & Terms (US)
chain (ch): Yarn over and pull through loop on hook.
single crochet (sc): Insert hook into stitch or space, yarn over, pull through stitch or space, yarn over again, pull through both loops on hook.
foundation single crochet (FSC): A method for beginning a project without having to make a separate row of chains first. It creates a nice straight, even starting edge. For a helpful video tutorial, check out Tamara Kelly of Mooglyblog.com
Important Pattern Notes
You can make your blanket any size you want by adjusting the number of starting chains. Any odd number of starting chains works for this pattern.
The entire blanket uses moss stitch, which is a repeating single crochet, chain 1 pattern. Moss stitch is sometimes called linen stitch.
Add the second skein whenever the first skein runs out and don’t worry if it starts on a different color. Go with the flow of color changes – no cutting or controlling of colors needed!
The Lively Blanket Pattern

Finishing Touches
Once you’ve completed all your rows, fasten off and weave in any loose ends. If you need to add a new skein or work around a knot, the Russian join method is fantastic for seamless transitions. You can find a helpful video tutorial here:
