Abbreviations & Note

Before we begin, here’s a quick guide to the crochet terms used in this pattern:

  • MR – Magic ring
  • SC – Single crochet
  • DC – Double crochet
  • INC – Increase (2 SC in the same stitch)
  • DEC – Decrease (SC two stitches together)
  • FO – Fasten off
  • FLO – Front loops only
  • BLO – Back loops only
  • SLST – Slip stitch
  • CH – Chain
  • BO – Bobble stitch (cluster of DCs in one stitch)

Pattern Notes:

  • Work in continuous rounds (don’t join at the end of each round).
  • Use a stitch marker to keep track of your starting point.

Crochet Pattern Instructions

Head, Body & Tail (Worked in One Piece)

Start with the body color.

  1. Make a slipknot, then:
    • Chain 4, turn.
    • Starting in the second chain from hook: INC, SC, INC.

  2. Round 2: 8 SC around. (8)

Fasten off and close the hole.

Ears (Make 2)

  1. With body color, make a magic ring.
  2. Round 1: 2 SC, DC, CH 1, DC, 2 SC into MR. (6 stitches)
  3. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.
  4. Sew ears under the horns (between Rounds 5–6).

Wings (Make 2)

Work in rows (not rounds).

  1. Chain 8, turn.
  2. Row 2: 7 SC, CH 1, turn.
  3. Row 3: 5 SC, skip last 2 stitches, CH 2, turn.
  4. Row 4: 6 SC, CH 1, turn.
  5. Row 5: 4 SC, skip last 2 stitches, CH 2, turn.
