Abbreviations & Note
Before we begin, here’s a quick guide to the crochet terms used in this pattern:
- MR – Magic ring
- SC – Single crochet
- DC – Double crochet
- INC – Increase (2 SC in the same stitch)
- DEC – Decrease (SC two stitches together)
- FO – Fasten off
- FLO – Front loops only
- BLO – Back loops only
- SLST – Slip stitch
- CH – Chain
- BO – Bobble stitch (cluster of DCs in one stitch)
Pattern Notes:
- Work in continuous rounds (don’t join at the end of each round).
- Use a stitch marker to keep track of your starting point.
- Stuff the body lightly as you go, especially the tail so it stays bendy.
Crochet Pattern Instructions
Head, Body & Tail (Worked in One Piece)
Start with the body color.
- Make a slipknot, then:
- Chain 4, turn.
- Starting in the second chain from hook: INC, SC, INC.
- On the other side of the chain: 3 SC. (8 stitches total)
- Round 2: 8 SC around. (8)
- Round 3: INC in each stitch. (16)
- Round 4: 16 SC around. (16)
- Round 5: 3 SC, BO (bobble stitch), 3 SC, BO, 8 SC. (16)
Insert safety eyes between Rounds 3–4, 4 stitches apart.
- Round 6: (2 SC, DEC) x 4. (12)
- Round 7: 2 SC, 3 DEC, 4 SC. (9)
- Round 8: 2 SC, 3 INC, 4 SC. (12)
- Round 9: (2 SC, INC) x 4. (16)

Fasten off and close the hole.


Ears (Make 2)
- With body color, make a magic ring.
- Round 1: 2 SC, DC, CH 1, DC, 2 SC into MR. (6 stitches)
- Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.
- Sew ears under the horns (between Rounds 5–6).
Wings (Make 2)
Work in rows (not rounds).
- Chain 8, turn.
- Row 2: 7 SC, CH 1, turn.
- Row 3: 5 SC, skip last 2 stitches, CH 2, turn.
- Row 4: 6 SC, CH 1, turn.
- Row 5: 4 SC, skip last 2 stitches, CH 2, turn.
- Row 6: 5 SC, then SC into every hole along the edge (about 5 stitches).
- Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.
- Attach wings between Rounds 10–14, 4 stitches apart.
