Crochet Pattern: Cute Duck Keychain

Materials:

  • Yellow worsted weight yarn
  • Orange worsted weight yarn
  • Small amount of black embroidery floss or two 6mm black safety eyes

Head and Body (worked in one piece):

  • Yellow Yarn
  • Rnd 1: Magic ring, 6 sc into the ring (6 sts)

  • Rnd 4: Sc in each st around (18 sts)
  • Rnd 5: (Sc in next 2 sts, inc) x 6 times (24 sts)

  • Rnd 7: (Sc in next 3 sts, inc) x 6 times (30 sts)
  • Rnd 8-10: Sc in each st around (30 sts)

Beak:

  • Orange Yarn

Wings (Make 2):

  • Rnd 2: Inc in each st around (12 sts)
  • Rnd 3: (Sc in next st, inc) x 6 times (18 sts)
  • FO, leaving a long tail. Do not stuff the wings. Sew them onto the sides of the body, around rounds 19-23.

Feet (Make 2):

  • Orange Yarn
  • Rnd 1: Magic ring, 6 sc into the ring (6 sts)
  • Rnd 2: Inc in each st around (12 sts)
  • Rnd 3: Sc in each st around (12 sts)
  • Rnd 4: (Sc in next 4 sts, dec) x 2 times (10 sts)
  • Rnd 5: Sc in each st around (10 sts)
  • FO, leaving a long tail. Slightly stuff the feet and sew them onto the bottom of the body.

Eyes:

  • If using safety eyes, attach them between rounds 7 and 9 of the head, approximately 4-5 stitches apart.
  • If using embroidery floss, embroider two small black dots for the eyes in the same position as you would place safety eyes.

Assembly:

  1. Weave in all loose ends securely.
  2. Attach the keychain hardware to the top center of the duck’s head using the yarn tail or by carefully inserting the base of the keychain and securing it from the inside if possible.
