Materials You’ll Need

  • Plush yarn: Wolans Bunny Baby white (color 01) – just over 1 skein; light brown (color 19) for paws
  • Lavita Yarn orange (color 3112) for the carrot nose
  • Himalaya Velvet red (color 90018) for the jacket and hat
  • Alternative: Any plush yarn with 100g/120m yardage works
  • Cotton yarn or strong thread (e.g., Iris, GALACES 0.55) for sewing and embroidery
  • Toy stuffing (synthetic fiberfill recommended)
  • Crochet hook size 3.75 mm
  • Safety eyes – 18 mm
  • Pom-pom for the hat – 4 cm

Legs (make 2)

Start with light brown yarn. Decreases are centered.

Eye placement: Insert safety eyes in round 10, with 8 sc between the posts (approximately 5 cm apart).

Face Shaping (Indentation)

Use a strong white thread (GALACES 0.55, single strand, about 20 cm) and a 15 cm needle. Insert the needle at point 1 (center of neck), exit at 2; insert at 3, exit at 4; insert at 5, exit at 6. Tie the two ends together and pull gently to create cheek indentations. Bury the thread inside the head.

Embroidering the Face

Eyelashes

Using black Iris thread (double strand). Follow the same needle path as the indentation.

Nose (Carrot)

Work with orange yarn.

R2: 6 sc
R3: (1 sc, inc) x 3 = 9 sc
R4: 9 sc
R5: (2 sc, inc) x 3 = 12 sc
R6: 12 sc, sl st. Leave a 15 cm tail for sewing. Lightly stuff. Sew in place centered between eyes.

Mouth

Skip 1 round below the nose. Mark 5 stitches apart. Embroider a smile. For a smiling effect, glue the center with fabric glue.

Jacket (Sweater)

Use Himalaya Velvet red yarn, hook 3.75 mm. Work in turning rows with a ch at the end of each row.
